Introducing Facebook Graph Search
Facebook's big announcement yesterday was Graph Search. It's a deeply important step for Facebook. But it's also kind of unlike other search systems out there, and adds a bunch of new ways to use Facebook. It's a new way to search for things you’re looking for on the social network
Build for discorver information in your Facebook network, Graph Search can be used to search for something simple like ”Photos of my friends," or something more complex like “Photos of my friends before 2006 uploaded by my cousin.”
The service is still in beta version, with only a few hundred people gaining access to it yesterday! At the moment this service is only available in the US, in Portugal where I live, there is no ETA for this service. Facebook will be using results from those initial users to help tweak the service, before release it to the whole of the Facebook community.
Emily Price was one of the lucky ones who had early access to Graph Search, and she took's it for a spin.
Check out bellow some of the searches she was able to do on Facebook with Graph Search, and how it works.
Facebook is starting with just a few search criteria in graph Search. in the future, additional variables will be added, for instance, Instagram.
Restaurant Search – With Graph Search you can search for restaurants by type, as well as location. You can also search specifically for restaurants you or your friends like.
Search for Anything – Searches can be for anything. For instance, it's possible to find out what musicians like a specific page, or even better, what musician's like a specific page and live in New York for instance.
Photo Search – Photos can be searched for using a variety of factors. For instance, you can search for photos of your friends taken before 1990. You can also get a bit more specific, and ask to view photos of friends before 1990 that were uploaded by a specific person.
Photos With Friends – Photos with friends can be narrowed down by a number of variables.
Check This Out – Photos from your search are displayed in the order in which Facebook thinks they would be most important to you. Importance is determined in part by the number of likes and comments a photo has.
Search the Web – Facebook has integrated Bing into Graph Search as well. If it thinks it won't find an answer on Facebook it will bring up a web search. web searches stand out with a grey icon beside them.
10-Day Forecast – Web search results are displayed directly in Facebook. For searches like weather, the forcecast is shown right in your Facebook menu.
Not Just Your Friends – Searches can include results with content from people you're not friends with as well. for instance, my search for "Photos taken in Paris, France" pulled up a number of public photos taken by people I don't know.

In summary I can say that Graph Search is way to sort through Facebook, but will still give you web search results that focuses on four main areas, and it kind of works like a dating website. And has the potential to be a crazy powerful stalker tool, and will be hugely more powerful in the future.
